Beauty does seem to come from within, and nurturing your body, mind and spirit can only help to make you more beautiful. Several skincare companies agree with this philosophy, and have some wonderful products that will make you look good and feel good, too.
Bliss has created BlissLabs for Nutricosmetics, creating nutritional supplements and teas, and Murad continues to promote Dr. Howard Murad’s skincare supplements. He was one of the first skincare professionals to formulate and sell his own supplements containing mixtures of herbs, vitamins, amino acids, amongst other ingredients, to address acne, the issues of aging skin, and sun protection — Dr. Murad began selling pomegranate supplements for years before the “regular” vitamin companies caught on! My husband has been taking pomegranate supplements for about 20 years and has wonderful skin despite a lot of sun exposure (wearing sunscreen, but you can only screen out so much). The Murad pomegranate Is 100% pure, and “Scientifically Proven to intensify skins natural sun protection. The proper name is Murad Pamphenol Sunguard Dietary Supplement. It is $36 for a 60-day supply; Murad suggests that you take it in the AM, since it protects you from all of the UV rays you’ll get during the day. I have a sensitive tummy but get no stomach upset from this formula. This is one of those supplements I will always take and suggest that others do, too.
BlissLabs formulas are really intriguing. They have nail boosting soft chews, beauty and wellbeing vitamin packs, fatgirlcleanse 2-day detox — I haven’t tried those.
One of my favorites, though, is Total Bliss ‘Zen” at work ($49 for a 2 oz bottle) — focus-enhancing calming drops. That seems contradictory, but it isn’t. A quiet, calm mind thinks more clearly. “Zen” has Vitamin b6 to support Cognitive Function, Magnolia Bark for relaxation, and Chamomile to sooth the stomach. Many health practitioners feel that the connection to the gut and mood is a strong one. This tea is Honey flavored and it has berry extracts, passion flower, chamomile, green tea, sage, lemon and orange extracts. It sounds yummy and it is, and the bottle provides enough for many cups of tea!
The other product I really like is the BlissLabs “Youth as We Know it” Vitality Blend ($55 for 14 packets) time management beauty supplement — the one I am using is a Guava flavored drink mix which comes in little packets. They recommend taking one a day, and the box supplies 2 weeks of drinks — not sure why they only sell 2 weeks at a time. Bliss makes a line of anti-aging skincare called Youth as We Know It, as well; they are pricey but very effective anti-aging products. The Vitality Blend supplement provide antioxidant protection, protection against free radical damage and oxidative stress. It has your basic daily-vitamin stuff and a Nutritional skin support complex, cellular protection with Resveratrol, and stress fighting herbal extracts. It’s easy to drink but must be taken with food in your stomach.
While the supplements are pricey , if put into perspective (the Vitality blend costs about as much as an expensive bottle of foundation for a month’s worth) it’s a nice way to improve the quality of your life and certainly good for you. If they are right for you, you’ll know it right away. Sit and have a nice cup of Zen or Vitality blend drink.
OK, now that you feel so good, let’s talk about makeup, Baby!
