Haul vs careful choice – discuss. The Urban Dictionary says:…
I’ve always loved Bobbi Brown’s Shimmer Brick compacts, ever since my first purchase; I think it was a lovely Pink Shimmer Brick. The Limited Edition Bobbi Brown Sandstone Shimmer Brick ($45) does not disappoint. When used with a fluffy bronzer or powder brush (Bobbi recommends the Face Blender Brush, ($48), you can create a soft but shimmery bronzer, contouring and brighting up your complexion. Dust the tops of your cheekbones, nose, chin — wherever sunlight would hit your face. The mirrored compact is handmade in Italy and has a lovely tortoise-shell finish. I suggest keeping the little foam pad in the compact to add a cushion if the compact is dropped; the pad seems to make it less likely to crack in an accidental fall.
Here’s the multitasking part: this Shimmer Brick works for both face and as an eye palette. Grab a good eye shadow brush and a nice lining brush (my favorite is the Bobbi smokey eye liner brush) and you have a wonderful nude shimmer eye palette. Pink Quartz and Beige Shimmer Brick Compacts also offer great cheek/eye multi-use. Add some nude, barely-there peachy-nude lipstick or gloss, like Nude Pink Lip gloss or Bare Peach High Shimmer lip gloss (both $25), some mascara – Bobbi Brown Smokey Eye Mascara ($28) – and you’re done. If you need more color, try a bit of Bobbi’s blush. I like Nude Peach ($27) and a brighter pink/peach would be lovely, too.
Shimmer Bricks have good staying power for both the color and the shimmer. If you want a more subtle shimmer, I’d suggest using Bobbi Brown Illuminating Bronzing Powder ($40), maybe in Bali Brown. Shimmer Bricks are SHIMMERY.
